IT IS BEST TO USE ENGINE ASSEMBLY LUBE WHILE BUILDING AND ENGINE SO YOU DO NOT HAVE TO DO THIS. Also, if your engine sat for a very long time there could be some internal damage, and priming it won't make a difference. But if you have a choice between the dry start and this, this should be way better for your engine. It is always better to pre-lube it..
